Professor Dalton was born many years ago and grew up in the frozen North (Minnesota). Having earned a bachelor's degree with a major in physics from Macalester College, she decided on a warm spot for graduate school: Nashville, Tennessee, (Music City USA), home of the Grand Old Opry and Vanderbilt University. She earned an M.S. in physics at Vanderbilt and worked for about 5 years as a health physicist in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Moving to the Washington D.C. area, she worked for 2 years at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, again as a health physicist. This drove her nuts.
Fleeing the FDA, Ms. Dalton rashly took a position teaching mathematics at Montgomery College. It turned out to be a good idea and she has been at the College a long time. Her favorite courses to teach are elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, precalculus, calculus, multivariable calculus, and differential equations.
The real me.
