1. BOOKS

MC Library Catalog: Change the search engine setting to "Keyword Boolean" and create a Boolean Search Expression. There are three components to Boolean search expressions:

  • Keywords: tend to be the nouns that best describe a topic
  • Boolean Operators: AND, OR, and NOT
  • Punctuation: quotation marks for phrases, parentheses with OR

Books By Topic: Here are some sample searches using keywords and Boolean operators:

"civil disobedience"
"huckleberry finn"
"the conduct of life"
"our town"
"grapes of wrath"
Request Book From Another Campus: Go into MC Library Catalog and use the REQUEST ITEM button at the top of the page.
   
Renew Books Online: Go into MC Library Catalog and use the MY ACCOUNT button at the top of the page.

Literature Resource Center
Search by Author. Click on tab labeled "Literary Criticism, Articles, & Work Overviews."
Expanded Academic ASAP
Look for Subject Guide in the blue menu bar. Once their, enter your author's last name and drill down through the directory to find literary criticism.
Academic Search Premier

Results can be sorted by date or relevance. To print, use the button within the database.
