Web Design Principles
Welcome to Web Design Principles. This class will cover the organization and development of web sites. Day 1 will cover Visual Design for the Modern Web, ISBN 978-0321-51538-4 New Riders/Peachpit Press, © 2008, Chapters 1-4; Site Audience and Purpose, Designing Display & Navigation, Site Design Considerations, Sketching and Prototyping and Gathering Site Assets. Day 2 will cover Chapters 5-8: Color, Graphics, Typography, and Forms. See also the textbook companion site.
Web 2.0 Collaboration Tools. Web 2.0 collaboration tools include blogs ("web logs") (www.blogger.com-take a tour) ( see www.wordpress.com and Wordpress Blog Features), wikis (Wikis in Plain English) (See PBWiki for education), collaborative research using "social bookmarking" (http://.delicious.com), collaborative document editing (Google Apps), Podcasting (see ITunes University), Web site "news updates" using "RSS Feeds," ("Really Simple Syndication"); and Web Site Aggregators (Google Reader), among others.
