Hello World!  This is my first web page. I'm going to cut and copy some text.

We rely on Picasso for inspiration:

"Good Artists Borrow;  Great Artists Steal"

Here is a spreadsheet of other textbooks used in this course, using "paste special."

There are fifteen things one must do to create a Montgomery College Web Page:

  1. Determine what your audience, your public, wants to know
  2. Collect the assets for a page
    1. Pictures
    2. Text
    3. Documents -
      1. Not PDF's -
      2. Convert PDFs to "tagged" PDFs!
  3. Create a page structure which maximizes your audience's options for finding informaiton - and don't forget to spell-check!
    1. Horizontal NavBar for Organizational Structure, Major Topics
    2. Left NavBar
      1. Multiple Home Links to Improve Navigation
        1. Montgomery College Home
        2. Department Home
        3. Site Topic Home
      2. Most-used links - Schedules, Programs, Degrees,
      3. Repeat Most Important Horizontal NavBar Links
      4. Directions to Campus - www.montgomerycollege.edu/maps
      5. Contact Us!  We mean it!  We won't give you a faceless number, and answering machine, the college's main phone - we'll give you a "real person" to talk to!
  4. Right Colum - News, Image, Message, Link to Mission Statement! More Links to Services, Courses!
  5. Contact Information - Horizontal Navbar, Left Navbar, Bottom of Page!
