Have them do the following:

 

1.    Write down their age

2.    Multiply it by 2

3.    Add 5

4.    Multiply this sum by 50

5.    Subtract 365

6.    Add their height (in inches)

7.    Add 115

8.    Tell you the 4 digit result

 

Q1) What is your partner’s age?  Hint: what are the first 2 digits of the 4 digit result?

 

Q2) What is your partner’s height?  Hint: what are the last 2 digits of the 4 digit result?

 

Q3) Why does it work?  Hint: write it out as an equation, then simplify
