
Terry W. Cox ’69
Inducted 2005
Terry Cox was the College’s first All-American in Cross Country
and Track and Field, a status he held in both sports for two years. He
was JUCO Champion and Region 19 NJCAA Champion in Cross Country for 1968
and 1969, placing second and ninth in the NJCAA national championships
in those years, respectively. In 1968 he was Tri State Champion in the
mile and 2 mile, Region 15 Champion in the 880, mile and 2 mile, and
placed sixth at the NJCAA championships in the mile. In 1969 he was both
Maryland JUCO Champion and Region 19 Champion in the mile and 2 mile,
and at the NJCAA national championships he placed third in the mile and
was heat winner in the 2 mile. His record gained state, regional, and
national recognition for Montgomery College’s nascent track and field
program.
