William L. “Butch” Bernard ’76

William L. “Butch” Bernard ’76 was an All-American for both the 1975 and 1976 seasons that he played on the MC-Rockville men’s soccer team.  During the 1975 season, he was a Second Team All-American, and during the 1976 season, he was a First Team All-American. During that 1975 season, the College’s men’s soccer team won its first state championship, with a final record of 10-3-1.   Mr. Bernard was captain of the 1976 team, as well as the team’s MVP and leading scorer for the season, with nine goals and four assists. 

After finishing at Montgomery College, Mr. Bernard earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and he now works in home-construction sales as a contractor in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
