WELCOME MESSAGE
Welcome to DS107!
I am so excited to have the opportunity to share in your experience of online learning and first year experience through DS107 online. Montgomery College has offered DS107 online for a long time, however this will be my first opportunity to teach it through distance learning. This will be an exciting chance for both of us to learn from each other through our online discussions and increase your knowledge about what it takes to be a successful student in college.
I taught at the Rockville campus for over 3 years DS107 and DS104. I am looking forward to teaching DS107 online this semester.

COURSE PREREQUISITES

TEXTBOOK
There is no textbook required for this class.
ONLINE REQUIREMENTS
The course is broken into learning modules. Most of the learning modules are covered in one week, however some take 2 or more weeks. We will have weekly discussions that cover a topic related to the Module Topic of the week. Time management is important for an online course, you will want to schedule a time to do your class each day. The easiest way is to look at this as a regular class and schedule your course time as you would a regular class. You must login to pass this class and get your assignments done, we still have due dates just like a regular class.
TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
Elluminate, WebCT, and Word are required for this course. Montgomery College Computers all have the required programs.
ON-CAMPUS REQUIREMENTS
There are no On-Campus requirements for this course.
