CATALOG DESCRIPTION
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the basic macroeconomic theory. This course includes the study of Keynesian, classical, monetarist principles and theories, the study of national income and economic growth, inflation, recession, unemployment, money and banking and the role of government spending and taxation. In addition to concentrating on theoretical aspects, attention will be paid to real world problem.
Goals
The primary purpose of this course is to teach students to think like economists so that they can apply economic concepts and methods to interpret macroeconomic issues and assess the impact of public policies.
Students who fulfill the course objectives should be able to pursue intermediate undergraduate level macroeconomic classes.
