Course Information Pages

Hi all

The new Course Information Pages are up!

I sent the original request during summer - but it's definitely not too late to send us your information. Here is an update with the process. Please consider using these pages to communicate with prospective students and students who have already registered for your course.

This page that lists all DL courses that have even been taught http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/distance/courseip.html. Your Course Information Page will be linked from this list.

These are very similar to the old Welcome pages, except better. Nghi Nguyen, the DL Web Specialist, has developed a form and a process for what we are now calling Course Information Pages. The goal is to provide generic (not semester specific) information about your courses. It is our hope that the pages will NOT have to be updated on a regular basis.

Here's the process:

1. Please complete the form on this page.

http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/distance/courseip/dlinfopageform.html

2. Once you submit the information, Nghi will be put the information in this format:

http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/distance/courseip/so101Twombly.html

A picture would be great, but not required. Thanks to Charlotte for providing the sample.

3. Once Nghi has finished setting up your course information page, he will then send you the link through your email to that page for a final review. For the first initial setup of the page, you can interact with him through emailing if the page is good to go live or if you want to make changes.

For other update after the initial setup process, please follow the instruction on the Setup form.

4. Students will find the Course Information Pages by going to the DL Homepage and accessing the site, http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/distance/courseip.html. Next semester they will also be attached to your course on the DL Schedule Page.

This is a great way to provide information about your courses to students prior to and after registration so please consider spending a few minutes to create your very own information page for your courses.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Anita
