- Structure
A college-wide structure will be maintained, managed by a coordinator for Service-Learning, to assist students, faculty, and staff in the identification, selection, and maintenance of service-learning sites, in the placement and monitoring of students, and in the recognition of their contribution to community-defined problems. Offices of Volunteerism and Service-Learning within the Student Life Offices at each campus with AmeriCorps members and/or staff assistance will serve students, faculty, staff, and community.
- Training
Students, faculty, and advisers will be trained in service-learning and offered an opportunity to participate in service-learning experiences.
- Portfolio
A student portfolio will be implemented to: capture student learning; relate the learning to the student’s educational plan; and provide direction for transfer, scholarship opportunities, and employment.
