NURSING IN HEALTH ILLNESS I

Course Description:    Alterations in the physiologic processes of immunity, cellular regulation, fluid/electrolyte balance, and acid/base balance are introduced. Common alterations in basic human needs are studied. The related nursing care, pharmacologic principles, and advanced psychomotor skills are taught. (T only) PREREQUISITES: Admission into the nursing program or permission of the department, a grade of C or better in BI 204, NU 105, NU 110, and NU 121. PRE- or COREQUISITES: BI 205, NU 124, PY 203, and mathematics foundation course. Four hours lecture/discussion, 12 hours laboratory each week for seven weeks.
