NURSING IN MENTAL HLTH ILLNESS

Course Description:    Dynamics of mental health and illness, and the role of the nurse in providing care across settings is studied. The nursing process and nursing diagnosis is emphasized as the nurse maintains, promotes, and restores mental health and seeks to prevent mental illness. (T only) PREREQUISITES: Admission into the nursing program or permission of the department, a grade of C or better in BI 204, NU 105, NU 110, NU 121. PRE- or COREQUISITES: BI 205, NU 123, PY 203, and mathematics foundation course. Four hours lecture/discussion, 12 laboratory each week for seven weeks
