Our virtual open house will feature faculty, students, and alumni in nursing, physical therapy assistant, and community health followed by Q&A and breakout sessions in:

  2. Allied Health: Physical Therapy Assistant, Surgical Technology, Radiologic Technology, Health Information Management, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS), and more.
  3. Health Enhancement, Exercise Science, and Physical Education: Advanced Personal Trainer Certificate, Behavioral Health, Community Health, Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Public Health Sciences.
  4. Noncredit Health Sciences: Noncredit Nursing, Phlebotomy, CMA, CNA, and more.

The mission of the Radiologic (X-Ray) Technology Program parallels the mission of MC. Students who enter and complete the Radiologic Technology Program are empowered to change their own lives as well as enrich the life of the local and global community as skilled, critically thinking, competent radiographers who possess integrity, accountability, empathy, a strong commitment to excellent customer service, and patient care skills while serving a diverse community.

This is a two-year program. Students begin in the summer for nine weeks (summer session), then complete fall (15 weeks) and spring (15 weeks) semesters for their first year. Students attend a second nine week summer session as they transition to their second year. They complete the program with a fall (15 week) and a spring (15 week) semester, and graduate in May. Please note that there are general education credits required for the AAS degree awarded for completion of this program.

Clinical Obligations

Once accepted into the Radiologic Technology Program students will complete background checks for each year in the program.

Students are assigned randomly to  two major hospital sites that are located in Washington DC and/ or Northern Virginia and/or Maryland with ancillary office sites rotations outside of Montgomery County (Frederick, Maryland).

Some clinical sites have required paid parking that may not be covered by the site.

Accreditation

The Radiologic Technology Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)new window, a national peer review group. This organization establishes and assures maintenance of high standards of quality for all accredited radiography programs, including this one at Montgomery College. Program was awarded the maximum 8 year accreditation award in 2016 with anticipated re-accreditation in  year 2024.
