Online Academic Resources for Students

As a student at MC, you can take advantage of online tutoring, on-campus learning centers, library resources, and Blackboard tutorials. 

Montgomery College Learning Centers promote student success by providing engaging, responsive, and interactive academic support.  Through high quality professional tutoring and collaborative collegewide services, the Centers’ dedicated and caring staff fosters a welcoming and empowering learning environment for a diverse student body.

On Demand, Anytime, Anywhere eLearning

Some of the things that students can do with Brainfuse:

  • Receive Instant Tutoring and interact with a live tutor
  • Use the Writing Lab for comprehensive feedback or connect with a live tutor
  • Submit a Question anytime and receive a reply from a tutor
  • Personalized Skills Building library of lessons and videos
  • Each student receives a monthly cap of 16 hours (960 minutes) of free tutoring

How to Access Brainfuse: 

  • Log in to MyMC
  • At the top of the page, click on Blackboard
  • Click the “Tools” link on the left-hand menu
  • Click on the Brainfuse Live Tutoring link

The Digital Learning Center (DLC) is open to faculty, staff, and all currently enrolled Montgomery College students. We operate on the Rockville campus and on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus. The DLC offers user support with a variety of common student use applications and provides online presentations in a variety of topics. User assistance and presentations are delivered using Zoom software and other learning management tools.

Blackboard Collaborate offers live audio/video, break-out discussions, and archived class sessions. Your professor will let you know ahead of time if there is a Blackboard Collaborate session in the online course.

TRIO Programsnew window - The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Examity new windowprovides MC students on-line exam proctoring services: automated and live. This service will continue to be free of charge for our students. Examity is compatible with Chromebooks as well as Mac desktops and laptops (no iPhones or iPods.) This particular feature should allow more students to benefit from this service.
