Many students begin their college studies unsure of their major or career path. The General Studies program offers flexibility and guidance to help students determine their academic goals and develop a path to completion. Consider the following questions to select an appropriate major at Montgomery College while considering longer-term options:
- Are you seeking a degree from Montgomery College?
- Are you attending Montgomery College for personal interest?
- Are you using or planning to use financial aid?
- Do you already have a degree or are you completing pre-requisites for another program?
- Are you visiting from another institution with the intent to transfer credits back to your home institution?
- Are you planning to transfer with or without an associate’s degree?
- Are you unsure of the academic or career path you would like to pursue?
- Do you have several ideas for academic and career pursuits?
- Does Montgomery College have the degree you are seeking?
