Utility Management is the administrative process of setting-up utility accounts, paying the bills, keeping track of utility consumption and costs and managing the utility budget. In the current deregulated utility environment this includes competitve procurement of electricity, natural gas and wind energy supply contracts. Utility management is also the engineering and life cycle cost effective selection of the right utility for the application.
In Fiscal Year 2008(July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008) the College consumed approximately $5.5 million dollars for utilities which include electricity, natural gas, fuel oil, propane, and water and sewer. The large increases in the past several years are primarily due to derequlation price cap expiration, volitile worldwide utility prices and the addition of new College buildings.
