Welcome! This tutorial discusses what plagiarism is and how you can avoid it when writing for your classes.  It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The main topics we will cover are listed in the sidebar to the left.

It is recommended that you go through the slides one by one since they build upon each other.  However, at any time, you can review a topic, start another tutorial, or return to the Montgomery College Libraries homepage by choosing one of the links to the left. At the end of this tutorial, you will have the chance to evaluate what you have learned. Then, if your instructor agrees, you may be able to earn extra credit by doing a short quiz and submitting it electronically.  Or, if you prefer, we can issue you a paper certificate at the Germantown and Takoma Park campuses.  See one of the librarians for details.  Now, on to the tutorial...
