From our Director...Join the circle of knowledge @ your library: celebrate National Library Week at the Montgomery College Libraries, April 13-19, 2008.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
Join us to celebrate National Library Week. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in
schools, campuses and communities nationwide. Everyday libraries in big cities and small towns, colleges and universities, in schools
and in businesses help transform their communities. The Libraries at Montgomery College are in the business of changing lives.
Students and community users of diverse backgrounds visit our College libraries to take advantage of the services and resources we
offer our students each and every day—237,779 volumes of books, 1,056 print periodicals, 26,509 unique electronic periodicals and 102 databases as well as a variety of instructional services and research assistance from trained professionals. If you are a student or
staff member, you can still access our resources at any pc from a remote location.
Discover how you can join the circle of knowledge @ your library at Montgomery College. To join our celebration, stop by the entranceto any one of the College Libraries to view College staff, including President Johnson, participate in our READ poster program on our new display screens. Come inside and pick up a celebration freebie donated by our database vendors. Pick up a pen, mouse pad, chocolate, a bookmark, a post-it note dispenser or other fun trinkets. You may be lucky enough to get a Starbucks card!
Don’t forget to say “Thank You” to our staff who assist you at this wonderful place we call a Library.
