Emergency Financial Assistance
Montgomery College is providing emergency financial assistance to students both through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and through funding provided by the MC Foundation. Students may request assistance both through the CARES Act and through the MC Foundation below.
The federal CARES Act provides direct assistance for students in the form of emergency grants.
Montgomery College has fully awarded its CARES Act funds. We are no longer accepting applications.
So far, we have distributed more than 7,000 CARES funding packages.
Since March 2020, The College and the MC Foundation have made awards to 1,800 students amounting to more than $858,000.
Foundation and College funds dedicated to the COVID-19 pandemic have been exhausted. However, we are taking requests for emergency assistance on a case-by-case basis and will review them as funds are available. If you need emergency assistance due to a hardship, please complete the Student Emergency Funding Request Form.
If you need assistance with tuition and fees, please fill out the Foundation scholarship application.

Refunds
The fastest way for you to get your refund is to sign up for Electronic Refund using
MyMCnew window. To set up your eRefund, please follow these steps: Setting up your Electronic Refund (PDF, ) .
If you do not sign up for eRefund your refund will be mailed to you by the postal service and may take two weeks or more to arrive. At this time we encourage all students to sign up for eRefund.
Important note: While eRefunds are the fastest way for you to obtain a refund, they do not go into effect immediately. You must set up your eRefund account a minimum of two weeks prior to an expected refund to allow time for validation. The best approach is to set up your eRefund account now so it will be available when needed.
See Tuition Refunds for complete information on refunds, refund deadlines, involuntary withdrawals, and more.
