Call for Proposals
Confluence brings together translators, interpreters, students and educators, and others interested in the field of translation, including its literary, practical, and philosophical dimensions. The conference offers interpretation and translation-focused presentations, and opportunities for discussion, networking, career development, and celebration.
Confluence organizers are seeking proposals for presentations to be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Presentation sessions will feature 60 minute presentations or panels on translation, interpretation, and translation studies, including 10 minutes for Q&A. Proposals will be accepted in four tracks:
“Roots and Routes: Possibilities in the Art and Science of Translation”
- Techniques, practices, and problem-solving in translation/interpretation
- Business of translation/interpretation
- Art of literary translation
- Education in translation/interpretation
Proposals are due by midnight,Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

It is expected that proposers will be informed about decisions by Friday, February 10, 2023. For the purpose of achieving a well-rounded conference, the organizers may solicit proposals at any time or may ask proposers to alter or consolidate presentations.
