Montgomery College Will Host Two Panel Discussions: “What to Expect Out of Washington in 2023 – and Beyond” and “January 6: The Capitol Police and the Defense of Democracy,” Feb. 8 and 20

Montgomery College will host two panel discussions this month at Globe Hall in the High Technology and Science Center (HT) on the Germantown Campus. What to Expect Out of Washington in 2023 - and Beyond will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. and will feature CNN commentator and Bulwark columnist Amanda Carpenter and longtime Senate aide and Clinton Administration trade official, Ira Shapiro. This panel will be moderated by Aram Hessami, professor of Political Science at the Rockville Campus.

MC will also host a panel featuring four Capitol Police officers who testified before the January 6 Committee. Officers Harry Dunn, Michael Fanone, Aquilino Gonell and Daniel Hodge will be speaking on Monday, February 20, at 7 p.m., also in Globe Hall. The discussion will be on "Protecting Congress and our Citizens on January 6 and every Other Day." The panel will be moderated by Montgomery College Criminal Justice and Sociology Chair Ginger Robinson.

Both events are open to the public and free of charge.
