Middle School Students to Showcase Original Mobile Apps at Montgomery Can Code Summer Camp on July 24
Montgomery College invites members of the media to attend the culminating Student App Showcase for its annual Montgomery Can Code summer camp.
Approximately 120 rising sixth, seventh and eighth-grade MCPS students will present original mobile app prototypes they developed after a week of learning coding fundamentals, app design and Apple’s Swift programming language at the College’s ignITe Hub. Family members and guests will attend the showcase. This event is not open to the general public.
Montgomery Can Code is an annual free summer program designed to expand access to STEM education and inspire the next generation of innovators through hands-on computer science experiences.
The ignITe Hub is a technology innovation center on Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus where students and community members learn coding, app development and other in-demand technology skills. Created through a partnership among Montgomery College, Montgomery County, MCPS, the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation and Apple, the Hub helps prepare the region's future technology workforce.

West (SW 301) and the showcase will take place in various classrooms at the Science
