Press Conference Thursday at Montgomery College-Rockville to Discuss the Aug. 6 Salvadoran-American Festival and Latino Health Fair

WHAT: Press conference with community, government, and College officials, to discuss the August 6 Salvadoran-American Festival to be held at Montgomery College.

WHEN: Press conference is Thursday, August 4, at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus, Science Center – Ground Floor Atrium; The Rockville Campus is located at 51 Mannakee Street.

WHO: Dr. Sanjay Rai, senior vice president for Academic Affairs at Montgomery College, will join Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Consul General of El Salvador Pedro Rodríguez, Montgomery County Latino Health Initiative representative David Del Pozo, and COTSA President Rina Aranda (COTSA is the umbrella group of Salvadoran hometown associations), to discuss the 11th Annual Salvadoran-American Festival and Latino health fair. All media are encouraged to attend.

About the Festival

The free festival will be held this Saturday, August 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Montgomery College (Rockville Campus, Parking Lot 11) located at 51 Mannakee Street.  

The festival will include the “Ama Tu Vida” health fair co-sponsored by the County’s Latino Health Initiative. Salvadoran food, crafts and music by local and international bands will be featured, along with community and educational resources.
