Our rigorous academic programs will prepare you to succeed—and our career planning and student employment services are here to help you explore different career options, hone your job search skills, and find internships and employment.
Montgomery College uses a collaborative approach to providing comprehensive career planning services to students and alumni. By combining expertise, resources, and support from Student Employment Services, Counseling/Advising, academic departments and other affiliated units, we empower individuals to make and implement well-conceived career plans.
Recognizing that career development is a life-long process, we strive to help students engage in self-assessment, occupational exploration, decision-making, goal-setting, self-marketing, job search skills, and developing meaningful connections in the workplace.
Career Planning Help for Students:
- Enroll in Career Development (STSU 120), a two-credit course designed to help you learn about yourself and engage in a comprehensive career exploration process.
- Schedule a career advising meeting in Counseling/Advising.
- Contact a program advisor to get advice from faculty with experience in your areas of potential interest.

Employment Services Help for Students:
- The College Central Networknew window is a referral source for jobs, internships, and other opportunities for off-campus and on-campus employment. Get more information for students, alumni, and employers.
- Speak with the Student Employment Specialists on your campus for help with resume writing, interviewing, job search strategies, and setting up an College Central Network (CCN)new window account.
- Use Big Interviewnew window to help you prepare for interviews by watching videos and or recording your responses to a virtual mock interview. Student Employment Specialists can help with this too. Instructions on accessing your Big Interview account (PDF, )

- Browse Career Coach, an information search tool specific to Montgomery County
- Use SIGI3 and Career Cruising, which provide information on careers, majors, and the job search.
