K–12 Pathways and Community Education

MC Experience

K–12 Pathways and Community Education provides leadership for Montgomery College's K–12 partnerships, Dual Enrollment programs, Youth Programs, and community education initiatives. The office works collaboratively with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), school systems, community organizations, employers, and College partners to create seamless educational pathways that prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong success.

Through strategic partnerships and innovative programming, the office expands educational opportunities that support college readiness, career exploration, workforce development, and successful transitions from K–12 education to higher education. This work supports Montgomery College's Strategic Plan and Academic Master Plan by expanding educational access, strengthening community partnerships, and creating guided pathways that help students successfully transition to college and careers. Collectively, these initiatives foster a college-going culture, expand equitable access to postsecondary education, and prepare students for transfer, credential attainment, and family-sustaining careers.

Through summer camps, enrichment courses, STEAM programming, career exploration, and academic enrichment opportunities, students build confidence, develop new skills, explore future careers, and experience Montgomery College in an engaging learning environment.

Dual Enrollment

Montgomery College's Dual Enrollment Programs allow high school students to enroll as Montgomery College students while earning transferable college credit, certificates, or, in some programs, an associate degree before graduating from high school. Through Early College, Middle College, Jumpstart to College, P–TECH, and Virtual Middle College. Students experience the rigor and expectations of college coursework while accelerating progress toward their educational goals, reducing the time and cost of earning a degree, and building a strong foundation for transfer, credential attainment, or workforce success.
