Academic Resources for Online Students

As a distance education student at MC, you can take advantage of online tutoring, on-campus learning centers, library resources, and Blackboard tutorials. 

Drop in with a tutor and interact in real time. Send an Offline Question and receive a reply from a tutor. Use Scheduled Tutoring to set up a session at least 48 hours in advance to interact in real time.

How to Access Smarthinking: 

  • Log in to MyMC
  • Click on My Classes.
  • Scroll down to Study Skills and Tutoring.
  • Select Smarthinking Online Tutoring.
  • Follow instructions on the screen to access the tutoring service.

Montgomery College offers a variety of services and supports through our discipline-specific Learning Centers to help students meet the rigors of academic coursework. The Centers provide tutoring, graphic calculator loan programs, study group areas, textbook loans, and open labs. They also provide support services to students in all classes that require reading, writing, speech, American English pronunciation, and world languages. Visit the Learning Centers.
