Weather Closures During Pandemic

All online classes will be conducted as usual during a weather event. They will not be cancelled. For any onsite class during the fall and spring semester, faculty need to plan for and communicate through the class syllabus how their classes will be conducted in the event of a severe weather event.

During an inclement weather event, employees who have been working remotely and/or have the capability to work remotely will be expected to do so according to their scheduled work day. Employees who are required to report to work on campus will be notified by their supervisors.

Who Is Authorized to Be on Campus During Closings and Delays?

When the College is officially closed or the opening of the College is delayed, non-essential employees are not authorized to be on the campus due to safety concerns. Only essential personnel are permitted on College campuses during periods of closure. Essential personnel is defined as: (1) Personnel required to ensure campus buildings and grounds are operational and secure; and (2) Personnel required for monitoring and communicating the operational status of the College. This restriction is in place for the protection of our students and employees. If the College is closed, it is deemed not safe for other than essential personnel. Essential personnel, including our public safety officers, are involved in operational needs to get the campuses open and safe. They are unable to provide full attention to the safety and security of students and employees during these times.
