Montgomery College to Virtually Celebrate 2020 Graduating Class Friday, May 22

Gen. Colin Powell, Dr. Anthony Fauci among those giving special congratulations to grads

Montgomery College will honor the class of 2020 with a virtual online celebration this Friday, May 22, beginning at 10 a.m. This event will include remarks by Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard and Board of Trustees Chair Gloria Aparicio Blackwell. Viewers will hear special messages from our graduates and special congratulations from General Colin Powell, former NBA star Jerome Williams, Dr. Anthony Fauci and many other notable alumni and friends of the College.

In addition, there will be individual slides recognizing each graduate. The graduate slides may be downloaded, and the celebration will be shared through social media. The class of 2020 will be invited to participate in the in-person May 2021 Commencement Ceremony.

Of the nearly 3,000 graduates being celebrated Friday, 1,104 are graduating with honors, having achieved a grade point average of 3.4 or higher. There are also nearly 30 graduates from the Early College program, earning their Associates Degree and their high school diplomas this spring.
