At Montgomery College, we're dedicated to helping all students succeed. Academic learning centers are located on each campus, offering services and support to help students meet the rigors of academic coursework.

Meet the Learning Commons Director
Elysse Meredith

Elysse Meredith holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Medieval Studies (English Literature, French Literature, and Art History) from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland as well as a B.A. in English Literature from Drew University in New Jersey. As the Learning Commons Director, she oversees MC’s diverse learning centers and Achieving the Promise Academy.

Since starting at Montgomery College in 2015, she has championed academic support as an experiential learning opportunity that improves access to all students. Additionally, Dr. Meredith has served as the President of the Maryland College Learning Center Association (MDCLCA) and the Treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic Writing Center Association (MAWCA). Her research interests include linguistic diversity, emotional labor, multimodal composition, and gamification.
 

The Learning Centers new window at Montgomery College are here to ensure your success as you pursue your academic goals. MC offers a variety of services and supports through our discipline-specific Learning Centers to help students meet the rigors of academic coursework.

The Digital Learning Centers  new window(DLC) offer instructional support and academic assistance for students, both in-person and online. Our wide range of workshops and services are designed to equip students with 21st century skills, positioning them for transformative success in their careers.

WRL Center serves as a resource for students, faculty and staff and provides support services to students in all classes that require reading, writing, speech, American English Pronunciation, and world languages. The services provided are one-to-one tutoring, specialized workshops, access to instructional technology, the Microsoft Office software suite, printing, and various resources assigned by faculty.
