Advising Day

Join colleagues across MC as we move advising forward together during one collegewide experience, offered simultaneously on all three campuses.
Advising Day is an opportunity for faculty, program advisors, counselors, navigators, and others from across the College to strengthen our shared commitment to holistic advising and student success.
Participants will engage in interactive sessions that build advising knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and equip them with practical strategies to support student success. Highlights include:
- Gain hands-on experience with academic planning tools through interactive sessions featuring Starfish, Degree Works, and Degree Planner, and learn how these resources enhance communication, coordination, and student support.
- Apply advising strategies in practice through realistic student case studies and coordinated care activities.
- Strengthen your advising foundation by exploring advising approaches, support services, and resources available across the College.
- Hear directly from students about the impact effective advising and support have on their educational experiences and success.
- Expand your professional community by connecting with advising and student support partners and gaining a deeper understanding of how our roles work together to serve students.
- Earn MC's Advising Foundations badge while developing practical strategies to help students navigate challenges, achieve their goals, and stay on track toward completion.
Start your day at 9 a.m. on one of the College’s three campuses:
- Germantown (GT): Globe Hall
- Rockville (RV): Theatre Arts
- Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TP/SS): Cultural Arts Center
- Coming to Germantown
