Dr. Kimberly McNair

Dr. Kimberly McNair

Dr. McNair has served as the associate senior vice president for student affairs since 2022. In this role, Dr. McNair conducted environmental scans, research, listening and learning feedback sessions, and facilitated discussions with the senior vice presidents, which resulted in the development of an enrollment management plan and strategy for the College. Before this, Dr. McNair served as the director of collegewide access and enrollment, where she oversaw the offices of recruitment, the response center, and the welcome center since 2015. As director, she spearheaded the development of a comprehensive recruitment plan and updated communication plan, oversaw the development of the faculty engagement initiative to involve more faculty in outreach and recruitment efforts, provided leadership for the student access realignment, and conceptualized and led the student affairs advisory group to assess and respond to community partners’ enrollment support needs. Dr. McNair serves as co-chair of Montgomery College’s Achieving the Dream/Student Success Network and was previously co-chair of the Student Success Network Start Smart Workgroup and also served on the Presidential Transition Advisory Committee (PTAC) to support Dr. Williams’ transition to Montgomery College.

Dr. McNair has been active nationally and regionally as a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the Chesapeake and Potomac Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CAPACRAO) associations, where she has served as presenter, author, committee member, and board member. She is a graduate of AACRAO’s Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement Program and the ASCEND Enrollment Management Leadership Development Program. 

Dr. McNair also taught master’s and doctoral-level courses in the department of education at Iowa State University and Concordia University–Portland, and a first-year experience master learner course at Howard Community College. Dr. McNair earned a certificate in student success analytics from California State University, a doctorate in higher education, with a focus on community college leadership from Morgan State University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Towson University. She earned a certification as a balanced scorecard professional, and she served as an evaluator/reviewer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Quality Matters Program, and Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
