MI-BEST

Maryland Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training

The MI-BEST Certificate Courses are perfect for students whose English skills are high intermediate or more advanced, but still need improvement. This course has a test that if passed, will provide students with an industry-specific, nationally recognized certification. Many courses finish with job fairs and connections to employers looking to hire graduates.

With a certification in a specific industry, students’ likelihood of finding a higher-paying job is strong. Students may also want to enroll in other classes in the field or take other credit classes.

To determine if you qualify, you must attend a registration/orientation.

At registration/orientation sessions, you will learn more about what to expect from the specific course. Potential students take an English test, if needed, and participate in a short interview. The test and interview will tell us your level of English and what classes will best help you in your career. Potential students are then contacted within two weeks to inform them whether or not they are in the class. Students are required to attend an assignment session to receive their class assignment.
