About the Mid Year Program

Identification and Admission Requirements

Students will be selected from the current Montgomery College student population to enter the MBI program at the start of the Spring semester in a respective academic year. The academic guidelines for acceptance to the program will be as follows:

  • Applicants should be high school graduates who have earned between 12 and 25 transferable credits at Montgomery College by the Fall semester in the year they are applying to the Mid-Year Program
  • An unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher at Montgomery College is required
  • Students must be eligible to take EN 101 or higher
  •  Students must not have taken more than one of the following courses:
    • ACCT221, ACCT222, ECON 201, ECON 202
  • Students must be available for mandatory weekly seminars each Wednesday from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Students must take BSAD 210 Honors in the Spring semester the same year they enter the program

Students are required to submit a complete application packet no later than December 20 of an application year. Application submission requirements include:

  • A Mid-Year application form, which will be available in October of an application year  
  • Completion of two required essays (there is also an optional essay)
  • A detailed, business-style resume
  • Two letters of recommendation, at least one must be an academic reference from a college level course
  • An unofficial Montgomery College transcript and transcripts from any other college or university attended
  • A copy of mid-term grades
