The Robert L. Giron Lecture Series poetry reading and discussion scheduled for February 2 featuring Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman has been postponed due to a conflict in Ms. Gorman's schedule. The College is in communication with Ms. Gorman's representatives and we are confident that a new date will be announced soon. Anyone who is currently registered for the postponed discussion will remain registered for the event when the new date is confirmed. The College will communicate via email to all students and employees as soon as the new date is confirmed.

At 22, Harvard graduate Amanda Gormannew window has been heralded as "the next great figure of poetry in the U.S." In 2017 she made history by becoming the first ever Youth Poet Laureate of the United States of America. She read her poem, "The Hill We Climb," at President Biden's inauguration. Montgomery College is pleased to announce Ms. Gorman will be joining President DeRionne Pollard for a conversation and poetry reading.

This webinar is available courtesy of the Robert L. Giron Global Humanities Institute Lecture Series and the Paul Peck Humanities Institute.
