High School Students

High school students in MC classroom

Dual Enrollment

Students can earn college credit or a college degree while still in high school through one of these programs. Dual Enrollment classes are free for MCPS students during designated semesters.

Jumpstart to College

Jumpstart to College is available to all high school students, and enables students to earn college credit while still in high school. Students have the option to register for one course or many.

Early College

Early College is offered to MCPS students who will complete their 11th and 12th grade years of high school while simultaneously completing their first two years of college. The program is offered at all three MC campuses—and there are several pathways and degree tracks from which students can choose.

Middle College

Middle College is offered to MCPS students enrolled at Clarksburg, Northwest, and Northwood high schools. Students begin with a traditional high school experience, transition into MC coursework at their high school, and end their senior year realizing a full campus experience at MC.

Virtual Middle College allows qualified MCPS high school students the opportunity to enroll at Montgomery College, taking college credit courses to earn their high school diploma, while also earning a college degree through an online/virtual college experience. Students from all MCPS high schools may participate in the Virtual Middle College Program, while still enrolled at their home MCPS high school.

ACES (Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success)

ACESnew window is a collaborative effort between MC, Montgomery County Public Schools, and the Universities at Shady Grove to support students and provide a seamless path to a bachelor's degree.

Noncredit Programs

What else does MC offer for teens? Year-round classes like driver's ed, SAT/ACT prep classes, interactive classroom programs, and hundreds of online noncredit classes.
