Description

This course will introduce you to terms and concepts of project management that will propel you to success in future project management courses. Gain skills in developing a project plan defining the scope, phases, milestone goals, and purposes. You will learn how to construct a work breakdown structure and create a project task network. This is the first prerequisite course for the Project Management Professional (PMP)® and the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification courses.

This 15-hour course is an introductory course. We do not go extensively into case studies nor do we include the PMBOK® Guide, Sixth Edition. We dive into the PMBOK® Guide in the next course, A Practical Approach to Project Management. We do not introduce or use project management software in this course.

You will receive Project Management Fundamentals material created by Montgomery College. Students must attend a minimum of 90% of the course hours to receive a certificate of completion.
