Middle States Accreditation

Middle States 2018 Self Study  Report Cover

Montgomery College has been accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)new window since 1950, and maintains this status through self-study and periodic review. The College was recently reaccredited on June 21, 2018, through the self-study report. The next Middle States accreditation action is scheduled for 2026-27.

Nursing, Health Sciences, and Physical Education Accreditations

  • The diagnostic medical sonography degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS).
  • The surgical technology degree program is accredited by The Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA), as well as the overarching Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • The health information management degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
  • The polysomnography technology certificate program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • The physical therapist assistant degree program at Montgomery College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • The radiologic technology degree program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • The nursing degree program is approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
  • The personal fitness trainer certificate program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
