Now it’s your turn.

Montgomery College is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Enroll at MC and prepare for your career in the arts. Our faculty members, who are practicing artists, will help you reach your goals.

MC offers two degree options in the visual arts: an AA and an AFA. You can take art classes at each of MC’s campuses—and each location has spacious art studios.

We offer a variety of art classes, including drawing, printmaking, sculpture, art history, digital tools for the visual arts, painting, and more.

Our students benefit from numerous opportunities throughout the year including artist residencies, guest lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and other programs that bring visiting artists to each campus.

Associate's Degrees

Transfer Information

Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution in an art-related major should follow one of the degrees listed above OR the general studies degree. The choice depends on which degree most closely aligns with a four-year school’s lower level requirements. Work with a counselor or advisor as you make your decision. Visit each four-year school’s art/graphic arts sites to see the recommended freshman and sophomore course sequence for majors. Check requirements at each school carefully to avoid duplication. For example, at some schools, some MC courses are consider “upper-level” and the MC course may not fulfill an upper-level requirement. If undecided, choose common courses from several schools.
