Who We Are

Who We Are

Mission and Goals

At Montgomery College, our alumni are part of our story—past, present, and future.

The Alumni Association’s mission is to build lifelong connections between MC and its graduates. Together, we create a strong, supportive community that helps alumni grow personally and professionally, strengthens the College’s reputation, and gives back through connection, service, and philanthropy.

Our Goals

  • Ensure alumni engagement is relevant and successful through enhanced communication, volunteerism, and events.
  • Strengthen the bond between alumni and all members of the College community to foster a sense of community and loyalty.
  • Recruit and support students and alumni ambassadors who actively promote the alumni community and its initiatives.
  • Increase the number of alumni donors and the amount of alumni contributions to support the College’s financial stability and growth.

Who Is an MC Alum?

Being an MC alum isn’t just about earning a degree—it’s about being part of something bigger. You are considered an alum if you:

  • Graduated. This includes earning an associate degree or a certificate from any of the College's campuses (Rockville, Germantown, or Takoma Park/Silver Spring).
  • Completed coursework. Former students who have completed a significant number of credits or coursework, even without earning a degree, are considered alumni.
  • Retired. Former employees, particularly those who have retired after a substantial period of service, are considered alumni.

Not sure if you qualify? Contact the Alumni Office—we’re happy to help.

Our History and Connections

The Alumni Association keeps MC’s history alive while creating opportunities for alumni to connect and inspire the next generation. Through awards, scholarships, athletics, and publications, we celebrate alumni achievements and strengthen ties to the College.

Alumni Awards & Athletics Hall of Fame

  • Milton F. Clogg Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award honors alumni who have made a significant impact in their community, profession, or at MC.
  • Rising Star Alumni Award highlights recent graduates making their mark through career success, community service, and support for the College.
  • Athletics Hall of Fame (PDF, Get Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader - Link opens in new window) , created by MC Club members and coaches, recognizes former student-athletes and coaches who built our proud athletic tradition.

The Alumni Awards Ceremony is currently on pause, but we’re working to bring it back soon.
