Highlights from the 2025 MC Fall Alumni Social
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our 2025 MC Fall Alumni Social at Fallen Oak Distilling! It was fantastic to see so many students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members come together for this inaugural event.
Fallen Oak Distillingnew window, owned by Lone Oak Farm Brewing Company, has multiple MC alumni who graduated from the Hospitality Management program and work at their business: Deneb Lopez ‘15, assistant general manager, and Irvin Palacios ‘23, kitchen manager. We proudly partnered with them to support Montgomery College students and build connections across the alumni community.
Stay tuned for our upcoming events by following us on Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn!
Volunteer Committees
The Alumni Association has numerous volunteer committees that meet and organize activities throughout the year. Learn more about each opportunity to get involved.

Mentoring
The mentoring committee provides guidance and support to our students in achieving their academic and professional aspirations. Mentoring is conducted in individual and group settings to foster personal and professional development through structured mentorship relationships.
Events
The events committee consists of several subcommittees that plan the major events that are hosted by the Alumni Association. These include alumni awards, community and chapter events/meetings, the annual Dogfishing for MC scholarships fundraiser, and Commencement activities.
Scholarships
The scholarships committee is responsible for identifying students to receive Association-managed scholarships. Once applications are received, the committee reviews them to make recommendations to the Board for approval.

Alumni Engagement
The alumni engagement committee attends community events and encourages more people to get involved with the Alumni Association. Committee members connect with alumni and learn more about their background and interests before identifying them for meaningful volunteer opportunities.
Marketing
The marketing committee coordinates the Association’s public awareness campaign. These efforts include communications, membership benefits, outreach to recent alumni and current students as well as social media.
Legislative
The legislative committee coordinates alumni advocacy efforts on behalf of the Alumni Association. Committee members frequently interact with elected officials to help promote the importance of Montgomery College to the community.
Alumni Association Chapters
Alumni may seek to form chapters based on academic discipline, student activity, location of residence, profession, or other affinity so long as they enable alumni to strengthen their ties to one another and to the Alumni Association.
