Adult ESOL Schedule of Classes

The Adult ESOL Program provides basic English language instruction to Maryland residents whose native language is not English.

Requirements for Adult ESOL Students:
  • You must take an in-person CASAS test to be placed in a class (online or in-person). Taking the test is not a guarantee you will be placed in class. You may not get a class if too many people apply.
  • You must live in Maryland to take these classes.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to take these classes.
  • All classes are free except for the Advanced ESOL class. If you are placed in the Advanced class, you will be required to pay $100 for tuition.
  • Students with F1 or J1 visa cannot take classes in this program. Contact ESL-Rockville@montgomerycollege.edu, if you have a F1 or J1 visa and want to take ESOL classes.

Fall 2, 2022 Application Information

  • There is no online application form for Fall 2, 2022.
  • All students for any class (in person and online classes) must apply in person at one of the locations listed below.
  • All new students must return for a placement test the day after they apply.
  • Fall 1 2022 Students: If you are attending a Fall 1 class, you must talk to your teacher about how to apply for Fall 2 classes.
  • The Fall 2 session is only weekday morning classes (Monday-Friday). There are no evening or Saturday classes in the Fall 2 session.
  • The next session with evening and Saturday classes is Spring 2023. Information about Spring 2023 will be available soon.

  2. Go to that location on the date listed below. Do not bring children with you. Please bring a mask.
  3. All new students must return for a placement test the day after they apply.
