Cyber Skills Summer Camp

The Summer Cyber Boot Camp course is designed for recent High School graduates. With this course, aspiring cybersecurity professionals will be able to gain hands on insight into the world of command line tools and some of the knowledge needed to uncover data breaches. Additionally, finishing this course serves as preparation for further cybersecurity and networking coursework. Our aim is to introduce students through exercises to some of the skills they might find themselves applying daily in the exciting world of cybersecurity. 

Prerequisites: Basic computer knowledge

At the end of this course students will know how to:

  • Identify layers of the OSI Model
  • Understand the basics of how the internet works
  • Navigate the Linux operating system through the command line
  • Analyze and investigate network intrusions using the command line and wireshark

  • Cyber Skills Summer Camp
  • Dates:  Monday to Friday, July 11-15, 2022 (one week only)
  • Time:  9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Attend an in person class on the Rockville campus or online via Zoom: 
    • Face to Face on the Rockville campus, at MK room 105 (space is limited for the face to face class)  
    • or
    • Virtual / Online via Zoom
  • Camp is open to recent high school graduates (Class of 2022, 2021 or 2020)
  • Cost: Free
