Germantown Campus

Prepare to Work in Biotech

Earn a degree or certificate toward successful employment and opportunities in the biotechnology industry.

Our students are trained and ready for laboratory work in cell culture and upstream processing, antibody production and isolation, DNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, and qPCR, GxP (GLP and cGMP) regulatory environments, toxicology or vaccine sterility testing, and testing and developing diagnostic and therapeutic agents.

Welcome! The Germantown Chemical and Biological Sciences (CBS) Department encompasses three disciplines - biology, chemistry, and our signature biotechnology program.

The department offers assorted courses, degrees, and certificates to meet the academic and professional needs of our students. Most credit courses have a laboratory component where students learn the scientific process and proper instrumentation through hands-on exploration in our modern, well-equipped labs. Students have opportunities for experiential learning, job skills development, undergraduate research, internships, apprenticeships, and honors-level coursework.

Reach out to our dedicated faculty and staff for more information.

MC Guided Placement helps students determine eligibility for Principles of Chemistry I (CHEM 131) and provides options to prepare students for success in the course.
