Career Exploration: Physical Therapist Assistant

The Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Montgomery College will prepare you for a career in health care as a licensed physical therapist assistant (PTA). PTAs provide limited patient care services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. PTAs practice in health care settings such as hospitals, clinics, and other settings.

MC's PTA Program includes classes, patient care skills laboratories, and full time clinical internships. Upon successful graduation, you will be qualified to take a licensure board exam.

This program is offered only on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus in five consecutive semesters, though many students will need additional time to complete admissions requirements and prerequisites. We encourage all prospective students to attend an information session
