Support a Student Today!
A Campaign to Transform Lives and Strengthen Our Region.
Montgomery College has long been a beacon of opportunity, transformation, and equity. Today, we stand at a crossroads—a moment that calls for bold investment in our students, our community, and our collective future.
In October, 2024, we launched a $50 million comprehensive fundraising campaign to expand access to education, ensure student success, and help every learner build a strong, sustainable future.
This is more than a campaign—it’s a commitment to economic mobility, social justice, and the power of education to shape lives. As of June 30, 2025, we have raised $37,673 towards our goal.
Join us. Together, we’ll shape what comes next.

Donor Spotlights

Stephen Campanella ’76 has supported MC’s theatre program for over 30 years.
Stephen, a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, has had an inspiring journey—from student to Master Carpenter of the Theatre Arts program at MC and later a dedicated mentor. For over 36 years, he poured his heart into the theatre program, building countless sets and shaping the lives of students.
He understands the power of technical theatre skills—an often-overlooked field—and established a scholarship, originally named after his mother, to support students.
In Memory of a Family Member: Karla and Derrick Nabors established the John E. Green, Sr. Endowed Educational Scholarship in memory of Karla’s father, who passed away in early 2021.
This scholarship provides tuition and fees assistance for students with developmental disabilities in the Graduate Transition Program or Challenge Program classes.
Karla’s daughter, Kristina Little, contributes regularly to one of these scholarships, as does her son, Kristopher Nabors. They requested memorial donations in conjunction with Mr. Green’s funeral.

Individual Donor: Marlene Gaunaurd
The Marlene J. and Guillermo C. Gaunaurd Endowed Scholarship and Marlene J. and Guillermo
C. Gaunaurd Endowed Fund will support Montgomery College students with a GPA of 3.0
or higher, particularly those struggling to support families while pursuing a college
degree. It will provide scholarships, textbooks, and emergency assistance.
Corporate Donor: Johnson Controls
Montgomery College is a proud recipient of the Johnson Controls Community College Partnership Program grant. Through this collaboration, MC is enrolling and graduating students from historically underrepresented populations in Heating Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) programs, ensuring they are supported through scholarships, training, and mentoring from Johnson Controls employees.
Fueling Student Success Across Three Stages of the Journey
We go beyond opening our doors—we walk with students every step of the way. Your support will help fund key programs including:
- Presidential Scholars Program – commitment to the goal of increasing the representation of underrepresented and disproportionately resourced males in high-wage, high-demand careers, and therefore interested in a pathway for transfer/completion and economic mobility for these men.
- Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) Program – guidance, mentorship, and scholarships for underrepresented students.
- Honors College – high-impact learning communities for top achievers in STEM, business, and more.
- Athletics – Scholarships for Division I and Division II sports teams: help MC attract the most talented student athletes.
Success doesn’t just mean enrolling—it means graduating with purpose and preparation. Your gift will have a significant impact in areas including:
- Student Essentials: Provide critical support for students facing basic needs insecurity. You can help
ensure every student has access to the essentials needed to succeed academically:
- Ready to Learn (Course Materials & Technology)
- Healthy Minds, Healthy Futures (Nutrition & Wellness)
- A Place to Belong (Housing & Stability)
- On the Move (Transportation)
- Pathways to Excellence Fund: Every student’s path to success is unique and all deserve the opportunity to pursue
excellence without financial barriers. You can empower students to achieve extraordinary
outcomes via
- Global Gateway Pathway (Study Abroad
- Champion’s Circle (Student-Athletes)
- Professional Edge Pathway (Workforce Development)
- Alumni Legacy Pathway (General Alumni Support).
We measure our impact by what our students achieve after they leave MC. Donor support powers:
- Industry Certification & Credentialing Funds – covering fees for workforce entry
- Transfer Scholarships – supporting students continuing to four-year institutions
- Experiential Learning – internships, externships, and career-building opportunities
