The Student Government Association (SGA), as an integral part of the college community, is responsible for representing the student body to the college administration, recommending the financial expenditures for student activities, securing and inviting student opinions regarding official policies and priorities, and developing activities and events that enhance the quality of students' academic and social experiences on campus.

In recognition of these responsibilities, the SGA will strive to act as the conduit through which students may openly communicate to the administration, facilitate events and activities beneficial to the student body, and provide a forum for the exchange of student ideas and opinions.

The SGA's primary responsibilities include addressing common student issues and above all enhancing student life during your academic career at Montgomery College. They also have a number of committees that they are involved in that provide opportunities for students to create programs and advocate for students on campus.

By joining this organization YOU have the opportunity to truly make a difference for students on campus. As a student on the TP/SS Campus, it is your responsibility to make sure your suggestions, comments, feedback and concerns are heard and clearly communicated. The SGA offers you the opportunity to do so and your participation will make a difference towards making your voice heard. It also will provide you to learn a number of leadership skills that you can utilize in your current and future endeavors.

  • Students who wish to serve as a Senator in the SGA must be in good standing at the College and free from Code of Conduct violations. Minor infractions may be left to the discretion of the Dean of Student Affairs office.
