The Student Senate, as an integral part of the college community, is responsible for representing the Student Body to the college administration, recommending the financial expenditures for student activities, securing and inviting student opinions regarding official policies and priorities, and developing activities and events that enhance the quality of Students' academic and social experiences on campus.

In recognition of these responsibilities, the Student Senate will strive to act as the conduit through which Students may openly communicate to the administration, facilitate events and activities beneficial to the Student Body, and provide a forum for the exchange of student ideas and opinions.

The Student Senate, as an integral part of the college community, is responsible for representing the Student Body to the college administration, recommending the financial expenditures for student activities, securing and inviting student opinions regarding official policies and priorities, and developing activities and events that enhance the quality of Students' academic and social experiences on campus. In recognition of these responsibilities, the Student Senate will strive to act as the conduit through which Students may openly communicate to the administration, facilitate events and activities beneficial to the Student Body, and provide a forum for the exchange of Student ideas and opinions.

The senate’s primary responsibilities include addressing common student issues and above all enhancing student life during your academic career at Montgomery College. They also have a number of committees that they are involved in that provide opportunities for students to create programs and advocate for students on campus.

By joining this organization YOU have the opportunity to truly make a difference for students on campus. As a student on the TP/SS Campus, it is your responsibility to make sure your suggestions, comments, feedback and concerns are heard and clearly communicated. The Student Senate offers you the opportunity to do so and your participation will make a difference towards making your voice heard. It also will provide you to learn a number of leadership skills that you can utilize in your current and future endeavors.

Applications are now closed for the fall semester. Spring applications will be available in November.  Students are more than welcome to join any of our open committees.

The Student Senate meetings are facilitated by the Student Senate President with the support of other student leaders. Contact the Student Life office to get more information at 240-567-1490.

Open meetings of the Student Senate will be held on October 31 and November 7 in ST 301. 

Senate Activities Board

The Senate Activities Board is a student-run organization that strives to enhance the Montgomery College student experience through planning and promoting a wide range of social, cultural, recreational, and educational on-campus programs to serve the diverse needs and interest of the student body. 

Open Committees

These committees are open to all students.

Senate Activities Board – This board is a Student Senate committee open to all MC students with the purpose of enhancing the Montgomery College experience through the planning, promoting and production of events and activities on the TP/SS campus. Meetings are every Wednesday at 2 p.m. in ST 302.

Multicultural and Diversity Committee – Promoting and raising awareness by education the TP/SS community by means of inclusion and diversity. Through advocacy, they aim to make MC a safe haven for everyone. Meetings are every Monday at 1p.m. in ST 222

Marketing Committee – The marketing committee bridges the distance between the student body and the Student Senate by communicating through the use of social media and effective advertisements. Meetings are every Monday at 1p.m. in ST 214.
