Description
Digital Forensics - Introduction ITI381 (face to face) or ITI446 (remote learning)
Digital Forensics involves the investigation of computer-related crimes with the goal of obtaining evidence to be presented in court of law. In this course, you will learn the basic skills necessary to begin the study of digital forensics. You will also learn how to examine network, log and file system evidence for traces of incursion and attack.
Prerequisites
Students should have a working knowledge of computer operation and architecture.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course students should be able to:
- Capture network traffic using Wireshark
- Describe the different types of traffic
- Navigate the Linux Operating System
- Navigate Windows PowerShell using the command line
- Search both windows and Linux file systems for files of specific types
