Description
This course is only for students who have successfully completed Certified Nursing Assistant Classroom. Under the direction and supervision of an RN Instructor, students are assigned to care for patients using the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom such as taking vital signs, assisting with feeding, giving bed baths, assisting with ambulation, and helping residents with activities of daily living.
Prerequisites
Students must have successfully completed the Certified Nursing Assistant Classroom portion of the program prior to taking CNA Clinical.
In addition students must earn the Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification for Health Care Workers, have a complete physical exam (documentation required), and show proof of immunity to a long list of diseases. Objectives
After successful completion of the classroom and clinical sections, you will receive an achievement award from Montgomery College. You may then apply to take the Geriatric Nursing Assistant Licensing examination. This state examination is set up through WDCE, Health Sciences department.
