Safety & Security
The Office of Public Safety is responsible for the protection of the College community, first aid, emergency assistance, 24-hour escort service (upon request), enforcement of campus parking regulations, and the lost and found service. Officers on each campus are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Since November of 2015, important enhancements have been made to MC’s safety and security operations, including: supplemental security staffing to be posted in key locations, such as the libraries, assessment centers, dining areas, Workforce Development and Continuing Education centers, and College enrichment centers; updated safety and security staff uniforms have been procured to enhance visibility; new signage at the Mannakee Building entrance advises visitors to sign in with the safety and security officer on duty; increased patrols by security officers on all campuses; safety messages transmitted by texting to MC Alert, exterior audible alarms for campus emergencies or inclement weather alerts, interior visible strobe lights and audible alarms, interior messaging display boards for emergency messages; training of security personnel and updates to current practices; and enhanced placement of security cameras throughout all campuses.
